Iran’s exports through the Khorramshahr border checkpoint in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 58 percent in terms of value and 10 percent in terms of volume during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the head of Iran's Khorramshahr Customs Office Hassan Gheybi said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).
The official emphasized that a total of 1.17 million tons of goods worth $85 million were exported through the Khorramshahr border checkpoint over the reporting period.
Gheybi added that the exported goods were mainly construction materials, agricultural products, fruits, vegetables and industrial products.
“In addition, 50,800 tons of goods worth $201 million were imported through Khorramshahr border checkpoint within 6 months. The imports increased by 47 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
According to the official, the revenues of the Khorramshahr customs office for the mentioned period amounted to 1.84 trillion rials (about $43.9 million), which is 54 percent more than the same period last Iranian year.
