The Asian Bank of Development together with the British Scott Wilson Company submitted the project Azerbaijan Transport Sector Strategy for 2006-2015В" to the Transport Ministry, the Ministry told Trend . The main task of the strategy is sustainable development of transport sector with the final goal of development of economy and reduction of poverty in the country.
Elaboration of the Azerbaijan transport sector strategy is performed by Scott Wilson, which won the tender. Under the contract the company will have to develop the countrys transport strategy and produce it to the Transport Ministry. The strategy will cover road, railway and maritime projects, as well as up-dating of some regional air terminals. The project is funded by the Asian Bank of Development which had allocated grant to the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan in the amount of $750,000.
