Azerbaijan, Baku, 21 April / corr. Trend S. Aliyev/ SOCAR Georgia, the subsidiary of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has launched the construction of a large petroleum storage depot in Tbilisi, Mahir Mammadov, the head of the Company said on 21 April. Preparations are being carried out for the basic construction process.
According to Mammadov, the construction of the storage depot is valued at $15mln. The company plans to construct it during 2008.
The petroleum storage depot will be constructed in Kiziki street near the Tbilisi international airport. The company purchased land for $3mln to construct the depot. The depot is capable of storing up to 20,000 tons of mineral oil and liquefied gas which will be realized in the Georgian market.
Various types of petroleum, kerosene, bitumen, liquefied gas and black oil will be stored in the depot. The construction will be completed by the end of 2008.
