Jan. 13 /corr. Trend E.Ismaylov / "By the end January, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan
Republic) will begin operating two operational gas-condensate well on shallow
water Guneshli field in the Caspian Sea," a source in SOCAR, close to the
works, said on Jan. 13. The wells are located on the platform of Guneshli-13.
According to him, the depth of one well composes 3,300 m, and the second one - 3,250 m.
Over the next days after filling of
concrete, possibly operation of gas-condensate well on the platform of
Guneshli-14 will also begin. The filling of concrete in this well was made
already for several times, but all attempts were unsuccessful. Source
did not name the reason for unsuccessful filling. According to
him, the depth of well is 2,970 m.
All wells will be owned by the Oil and Gas Production Unit "28 May".
Guneshli is the largest oil and gas field,
developed by SOCAR independently. Some 60% of entire oil and 70% of the total
volume of gas, produced by SOCAR, falls on this field.
Drilling new wells is realized within the new development program of "28 May"
for 2008-2010. Within the program, it is planned to stabilize oil production
and increase the volumes of natural gas production.
