Ukraine, Kiev, Jan. 15/ Trend Z. Novsvitski/ On Jan. 15 Ukraine's President Viktor Yushchenko has confirmed over phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel his willingness to take part in the energy summit on condition that it will be held in European territory, Irina Vannikova, press secretary of Ukraine's President, said at the briefing.
Moreover, Yushchenko informed interlocutress about readiness of Ukraine's gas transport system (GTS) for all contracted gas volumes transit to European consumers. The main reason of no renewal of gas supplies is his absence in Ukraine's GTS volumes stipulated in the contracts signed with Gazprom and European consumers.
Ukraine didn't suspend gas supplies to the EU and didn't carry out its unsanctioned selection, as well as it completely paid off used in 2008 gas, Yushchenko said.
The President also informed Federal Chancellor that Ukraine has spent 75 million cubic meters of gas of its own reserve for uninterrupted fuel supply to European consumers.
Ukraine is ready to transport Russian gas to European consumers even without a contract if it is supplied in full volume, Ukraine's President said.
