Iran started testing 330-kv electricity transmission lines Imishli-Parsabad with the length of 25 kilometers, which envisages increasing the electricity import from Azerbaijan, Azerenerji JSC said on April 29.
Also currently 220-kv air lines Shirvan-Salyan-Masalli-Astara, which is part of the project on construction of Parsabad - Astara electricity transmission lines (ETL), is under construction.
The Vice-President of Azerenerji Marlen Askerov said formerly that Iranian company Sunir is also testing 220-kv substation Salyan in the same region of Azerbaijan, located in 120 kilometers south of Baku.
By mid 2009, Azerenerji plans to complete all work within the project on increasing energy exchange with Iran and bring it up to 700 MWt from the current 200 MWt.
The project envisages construction of over 350 kilometers of high voltage transmission lines and the simultaneous reconstruction of several substations, one of which is the substation Salyan.
The program is realized in collaboration with Iranian Sunir company and includes construction of a 330kv electricity transmission line- Alibayramli thermal power station - Imishli, second line Imishli - Parsabad, a 220km electricity transmission line- Alibayramli TPS - Salyan, Salyan-Masally, Masalli-Astara, as well as a substation Salyan and expansion of four more substations. The gross length of the electricity transmission line will make up 350km.
