Azerbaijan's current account surplus balance increases

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 15. The current account surplus of the balance of Azerbaijan from January through September 2022 totaled $17.71 billion, or 30.7 percent of GDP, Trend report via Azerbaijan's Central Bank.

According to the bank, the current account surplus of the balance from January through September 2021 amounted to $3.9 billion.

Thus, the surplus increased 4.5 times year-on-year.

The surplus in the oil and gas sector from January through September amounted to 21.447 billion (2.6 times growth), while the deficit in the non-oil sector amounted to 3.737 billion (a decrease of 12.1 percent).

The average oil price from January through September 2022 totaled $106.6 per barrel, compared to $61.9 per barrel in 2021.

The overall current account surplus from January through September 2022 totaled $7.6 billion, which is 3.1 times higher than in the same period of the previous year.
