Azeri Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Completed his Participation in ITU Plenipotentiary Conference

On November 12, the Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov completed his participation in the 17th Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that is held in Turkey on November 6-24. Azerbaijan is represented in the conference by the Head of the Ministry's Department for International Relations and Work with Non-Governmental Organizations Ayaz Bayramov, the Head of the Law and Staff Department Bakhtiyar Mammadov and Head of the National E-Governance Network Initiative Ilyas Naibov-Aylisli, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies.

Presently Azerbaijan is awaiting the elections to the ITU Council, where Azerbaijan had put forward its candidature, the same source stated.

The Plenipotentiary Conference is a higher body of the ITU. The conference is held every four years and defines and adopts the common policy for the four-year strategic and financial plan of the organization.
