The number of TEU containers loaded and unloaded in the western ports (including, Chark, Aftab, Bandar Lengeh ports, and so on) of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 340 percent from March 21, 2021 through October 7, 2021, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Ports and Maritime Office of Bandar Lengeh port Ghasem Askari Nasab said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
The director said that 35,200 TEU containers were loaded and unloaded at these ports during the reporting period.
Askari Nasab also added that 17,600 TEU containers were exported through the western ports of Hormozgan Province within the mentioned period.
“Furthermore, 138,000 tons of goods were transited through these ports over the same period, which is an increase of 109 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” he said.
The director noted that more than 63,000 tons out of 138,000 tons were unloaded in the Bandar Lengeh port, which is 97 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.
Askari Nasab stressed that more than 456,000 tons of minerals were exported to various countries through the western ports of Hormozgan Province within 6.5 months that is 104 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year.
According to him, 12,500 ships docked at the western ports over the reporting period. This is an increase of 57 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
