ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 12. Plants for deep processing of vegetables, fruits, and agricultural products will be built in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.
Considering the importance of the development of this industry, a number of work are being carried out to attract domestic and foreign investors. In particular, an agreement was reached with the Uzbek company Global Textile and the Chinese Pengsheng company on deep processing of cotton and the creation of a cluster. In the Shardara distrcit, KazKrakhmal LLP is building a plant for the deep processing of corn, and Atmo Capital Turkistan LLP plans to implement a plant for the deep processing of tomatoes and melon crops.
In addition, the construction of a plant for the production of seasonings added to finished products, for the processing of onion and garlic in the city of Turkestan is being considered. In the Sairam district, Nurym Group LLP plans to build a plant for the production of compound feed and deep processing of cattle waste.
In the Turkestan region, over the past five years, the volume of industrial production has doubled in 2022 and reached 866.6 billion tenge ($1.87 billion). At the end of seven months of 2023, products worth 519.3 billion tenge (about $1.12 billion) were produced, which amounted to 104.5 percen of the physical volume index. More than 350 enterprises operate in this area, employing 31,700 people.
