ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 26. The Government of Kazakhstan has allocated over 1.1 billion Kazakh tenge ($2.3 million) from the emergency reserve for the restoration of overhead power lines in the West Kazakhstan region following extensive floods, Trend reports.
According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, the funds will be transferred to the budget of the region as part of the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters.
Furthermore, by December 1, the municipality of the West Kazakhstan region will have to submit a report on their intended use to the Ministry of Energy of the country.
Restoration work will be carried out on the following sections of settlements: Shalgai - Talovaya in the Bayterek district; Kentubek (Grigoryevka) - Alexandrovka in the Burlinsky district; and Chingirlau - Ashchysai (Myrzagora) in the Chingirlau district.
Meanwhile, due to floods in Kazakhstan, engineering, road, and social infrastructure suffered; in particular, more than 2,300 power supply poles were destroyed and 54 kilometers of lines were cut off.
Earlier, a government decree was also adopted on the allocation of over 1.3 billion Kazakh tenge ($2.7 million) from the emergency reserve for the restoration of power transmission lines in the Kostanay region.
