BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 13. Kyrgyzstan welcomed 127,956 tourists from China in 2024, which is 56 percent more than in 2023, Trend reports.

This was discussed during a meeting between Kylychbek Rysaliev, President of the Tourism Development Support Fund of Kyrgyzstan, and representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of China.

In the course of the talks, the sides discussed potential cooperation in tourism sectors such as business, investment, ethnographic and sports tourism.

Furthermore, it was noted that Kyrgyzstan has been included in the list of recommended destinations for independent Chinese travelers. The growth in tourist arrivals is also supported by the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Kyrgyzstan and China, which simplifies the organization of group tourist trips. Rysaliev highlighted that the Tourism Fund plans to intensify its efforts to engage Chinese tourists.

As part of President Sadyr Zhaparov's official visit to China, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China was signed in Beijing on February 4, 2025. This memorandum will contribute to the development of the tourism industry, attract investment, and stimulate economic growth. It will allow China to officially send organized group tours to Kyrgyzstan.
