The Uzbek Senate of Oliy Majlis (upper house of parliament) elected Buritosh Mustafayev as the Supreme Court Chairman at a meeting held yesterday.
Buritosh Mustafayev, professional lawyer, was re-elected as the Supreme Court Chairman.
First the Senate elected him to this post in November 2006.
Prior to his appointment as Supreme Court Chairman, Mustafayev served as Attorney General, Deputy Advisor to President, Constitutional Court Chairman, as well as Chairman of the Central Election Committee of Uzbekistan during different periods.
