BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Uzbekistan was visited by 503,600 foreign citizens for tourist purposes in May 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
Compared to the corresponding period last year, this figure increased by 363,400 people, or 3.6 times.
The top 3 countries in terms of the number of citizens who visited Uzbekistan include Kazakhstan - 169,900, Kyrgyzstan – 141,300 and Tajikistan – 116,000 people.
The remaining countries were: Russia – 47,500 visitors; Turkiye – 6,400 visitors; Germany – 2,200 visitors; France – 1,700 visitors; the US – 1,500 visitors; South Korea – 1,400 visitors; India – 1,300 visitors.
