TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, February 4. Uzbekistan opened a new customs warehouse covering 1,110 square meters at the Nukus logistics center, owned by Uztemiryolkonteyner (a subsidiary of Uzbekistan Railways, specializing in container transportation, logistics, and customs warehousing), Trend reports.
According to Uztemiryolkonteyner, the new customs warehouse is expected to enhance transport and logistics services in Karakalpakstan and provide additional convenience for entrepreneurs.
Established with the support of regional customs representatives, the warehouse is equipped with modern infrastructure and security systems. It facilitates temporary cargo storage, customs operations, and multimodal transportation.
Since 2020, in collaboration with the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, Uztemiryolkonteyner has organized customs warehouses with a total area of 15,000 square meters (open type) and 6,200 square meters (closed type) in logistics centers across Raustan, Margilan, Kokand, Jizzakh, Ulugbek, Termez, and Bukhara. These facilities efficiently handle cargo loading, unloading, storage, and customs clearance.
