Iran's Deputy Interior Minister for Security Affairs Ali Abdullahi has met with Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik, discussing security ties between Tehran and Islamabad, Press TV reported with reference to IRNA.
During the Sunday meeting, the Iranian official stressed "the precise and complete implementation" of security pacts between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed issues, including campaigns against terrorism, narcotics, human trafficking, organized crime, and border control.
Abdullahi and Malik also decided on the formation of a Tehran-Islamabad security commission to be chaired by the security deputies of the interior ministers of Iran and Pakistan.
In November 2010, the Pakistani interior minister stressed the importance of bolstering security cooperation with Iran, particularly in the campaign against narcotics.
In April, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also called for the expansion of Tehran-Islamabad cooperation in fighting terrorism and drug trafficking.
"Such cooperation would be beneficial to both nations and regional countries," President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with the visiting Pakistani interior minister in the Iranian capital, Tehran.
