Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted US President Barack Obama's recommendation to give Egypt's proposal for a ceasefire in the fighting between Hamas and Israel a chance, his office announced, DPA reported.
The Israeli statement came as Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr announced that a truce would come into force at 1900 GMT.
