Holland to host events in connection with Khojali tragedy

The cycle of activities are envisaged to be held in Rotterdam (Holland) in connection with the Khojali genocide's anniversary.

A demonstration will be held in front of the Rotterdam municipality building Feb.26 with the support of the Ireli Public Union. Then parade to the city center will be organized, to be attended by 200 people,the Ireli Public Union said.

An international conference dedicated to Khojali genocide will be held in order to bring to the Dutch public's attention the crimes committed by Armenians against humanity.

Official permission to hold activities was previously obtained during the negotiations of  the Azerbaijan-Netherlands Solidarity Society with the Rotterdam city's Mayor and police chief.

The action organized by the Azerbaijan-Netherlands Solidarity Society and the Ireli Public Union is expected to be attended by 300 local and foreign citizens.

The organizers of events to be held in Holland in connection with the Khojali genocide's anniversary are chairman of the Azerbaijan-Netherlands Solidarity Society Elkhan Isazade and the Ireli Public Union representative in Holland Hafiz Mehtiyev.

Actions and events will be held in nine European cities in connection with the Khojali genocide's anniversary with the support of the Ireli Public Union. The activities will be held in Holland, Britain, France, Germany, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Preparation held by the Ireli Public Union in connection with it, ends.

Armenian troops committed genocide in Khojali on Feb. 26, 1992. The tragedy began early morning. Within hours, over 613 unarmed Azerbaijani citizens were killed. Among them were 106 women and 83 children. About 1,000 people were disabled by shots; 8 families were fully destroyed. A total of 25 children lost both of their parents and 130 children lost one of them. About 1,275 people were taken prisoner and around 150 people went missing. Eight families were completely killed.
