Romanian President to Trip to Astana

Kazakhstan, Astana/ Trend corr. K.Konirova/ The day of the National Unity of Romania was celebrated in Astana. " Romania became much closer to Kazakhstan. First due to livening up of cooperation between our countries," Emil Rapcha, the Romanian ambassador to Kazakhstan, said at the diplomatic meeting on the occasion of the day of the National Unity.

The break in the two countries' mutual relations took place within last two years, the Romanian diplomat said.

The asset acquisition of the Romanian oil company "Rompetrol" gave strong impetus to the development of our cooperation. This is very important and interesting project for both parties. Kazakhstan doesn't simply invest Romania but at the same time gets the opportunity to operate in the framework of E.U," he said.

The present relations between Romania and Kazakhstan are one of the real actions to realize in the state program Path to Europe, Deputy Foreign Minister Kayrat Saribay said in his turn.

"The Romanian president Traian Basescu's visit to Astana, to take place with next few months, will confirm the mutual interest to the active cooperation," Deputy Minister said.
