Member of the Azerbaijani Parliament has accused Azerbaijani Consul General in Istanbul Sayyad Aran in contempt for matters of national importance.
"A the representative of the consulate did not come to the event dedicated to the memory of Azerbaijanis died in the Battle of Canakkale. There were problems with installation of the memorial plaque. The Consulate has taken this question with indifference. They were busy by accompanying some people who came from Azerbaijan to do shopping. This is not the first time of such an indifferent attitude towards us. After an appeal to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the problem was solved ", MP Gular Ahmadova, being on a visit to Turkey in mid-March, said at today's parliamentary meeting.
Currently, Azerbaijani Consul General in Turkey is Sayyad Aran.
Other members of the parliament expressed their dissatisfaction with the activities of the consul, Azerbaijani parliamentary speaker Oktay Asadov said.
"In an interview with representatives of the Foreign Ministry, I expressed our concern. I think necessary measures on this matter will be taken", Asadov said.
