BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 14. Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, as part of a working visit to the country, a source in the parliament told Trend.
The meeting welcomed the successful development of relations between our countries based on the principles of friendship and brotherhood.
Besides, the meeting noted that mutual visits of the country's leaders played an important role in reaching a high level of Azerbaijani-Pakistani relations.
The speakers, drawing attention to the special role of parliaments in the development of these relations, highly appreciated the cooperation of the countries' legislative bodies both on a bilateral basis and on various platforms.
During the conversation, the holding of the Third Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and Türkiye was assessed as a contribution to the further expansion of the interstate relations, and views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
