The Azerbaijani junior group team has won the Baltic Hoop International Tournament in Riga, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation reported.
The team consisting of Lala Yusifova, Aysha Mustafayeva, Mansura Bagiyeva, Siyana Vasileva, Aynur Jabbarli and Sabina Garatova performed well with five ropes.
The gymnasts won the all-round event, beating St. Petersburg and Estonia, who finished second and third, respectively.
The Azerbaijani flag was twice raised at the Riga Sports Complex in honor of Zeynab Javadli. She finished third in the ball and clubs.
"But that's not all," Head Coach Mariana Vasileva said. "After the tournament, Zeynab was named 'Miss Elegance' and 'Miss Sympathy' by all the artists in the hall."
The next competition for the atheletes will be held during the Novruz holiday. The Italian Pesaro will host the next stage of the World Cup and International Tournament on March 23-27, which will be attended by Aliya Garayeva and Anna Gurbanova, as well as juniors Leman Dadashli and Gulsum Shafizade, Vasileva said.
