BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 3. Kyrgyzstan's cotton exports to China skyrocketed in the first seven months of 2024, with the volume increasing 19 times compared to the same period last year, Trend reports via the General Customs Administration of China.
From January through July, China imported 3,100 tons of cotton from Kyrgyzstan (2,940 tons during the same period last year). This surge in exports corresponded with a rise in export value, which grew 12.1 times to reach $5.4 million.
The cotton shipments hit the road in January, February, and April of this year, showing a big jump in the demand for Kyrgyz cotton in the Chinese market.
