BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The United States set a new record for crude oil production in August 2024, averaging 13.4 mb/d, surpassing the previous monthly high of 13.3 mb/d set in December 2023, Trend reports.
This marks the highest production level ever recorded in the country.
In the first eight months of 2024, U.S. production remained consistently above 13 mb/d, with the exception of January.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) forecasts that production for the full year will average 13.2 mb/d, surpassing the 2023 annual record of 12.9 mb/d. Projections for 2025 estimate production will rise to 13.5 mb/d.
Since becoming the world's top crude oil producer in 2018, the U.S. has maintained this position, continuing to lead global production.
