BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 2. Azerbaijani banks’ loan portfolio hit the ground running at 14.6 billion manat ($8.5 billion) from January through October 2024, with large enterprises pocketing the lion's share of over 8.2 billion manat ($4.8 billion), or 56.3 percent.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) shows that the total business loan portfolio amounts to 10.03 billion manat ($5.9 billion), or 68.6 percent, with large and medium-sized businesses accounting for the majority. This includes 1.8 billion manat ($1 billion), or 12.3 percent, allocated to medium-sized enterprises.
On that account, small businesses got a slice of the pie amounting to 1.57 billion manat ($923 million), which is 10.7 percent of the loan portfolio, while microenterprises raked in 3.02 billion manat ($1.77 billion), or 20.7 percent of the total.
