BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. The volume of domestic cashless payments made by cards in Azerbaijan amounted to over seven billion manat ($4 billion) during February of this year.
Data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) indicates that 918 million manat ($540 million) of the mentioned amount accounted for POS terminals, marking growth of 21 million manat ($12.3 million) or 2.3 percent compared to the same month of 2024 (897 million manat or $527.6 million).
To note, in February of this year, 6.2 billion manat ($3.65 billion) of the total cashless payments were made through electronic commerce. The remaining amount of 3.3 million manat ($1.94 million) was processed via self-service terminals. Since the beginning of the year, cashless domestic transactions made with payment cards accounted for 67.5 percent of domestic card transactions.
