ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 21. Last week, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (SCRMET) hit the ground running, facilitating export transactions that raked in over $41.13 million, Trend reports.
Business representatives from Afghanistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan purchased sodium chloride and automotive gasoline produced by the Turkmenhimiya concern, as well as liquefied gas, aviation kerosene, petroleum bitumen, and gas concrete products from the Turkmennebit concern.
Textile products from enterprises under the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan were also sold at the exchange. Additionally, for the domestic market, Turkmen entrepreneurs bought Portland cement, cotton yarn, and dried licorice root extract, totaling 34.57 million manat ($9.88 million).
A cumulative total of 15 transactions were documented during the preceding trading session at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.
SCRMET is the official exchange in Turkmenistan where various goods, including raw materials, energy resources, and industrial products, are traded. The exchange serves as a pivotal nexus in the nation's economic ecosystem, especially in optimizing cross-border commerce and streamlining intra-national fiscal exchanges.
