ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 15. Kazakhstan's Prime Minister, Olzhas Bektenov, reviewed green energy initiatives in the Kostanay region, Trend reports.
According to the information, plans include the construction of a 1 GW wind power plant with an energy storage system, as well as several other renewable energy facilities, which will significantly increase the region's production capacity.
Meanwhile, it is expected that, thanks to new projects, such as
the installation of 165 wind turbines, carbon emissions will be
reduced by 3.3 million tons per year.
"The wind energy project is of great importance for the sustainable
development of the region and the entire country, as well as for
economic diversification. We will continue to develop 'green'
energy under international standards. This will not only reduce
carbon emissions but also create new jobs," noted the Prime
Minister.
Over the next two years, six renewable energy projects will be
implemented, which will increase electricity production
tenfold.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, during his visit to Kostanay region, also reviewed the implementation of President Tokayev's instructions, announced at the 4th meeting of the People's Kurultai and Security Council, concerning the development of the road network, the restoration of Arkalyk airport, the modernization of the energy supply system, and development of renewable energy sources (RES).
