The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) is a measure of inflation developed by Eurostat to track changes in the prices of a standard basket of goods and services purchased by households. It is calculated in a consistent way across European countries to allow comparison of inflation rates and monitor price stability.
Georgia began officially publishing the HICP on a monthly basis in 2022. The National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT) started preparing this indicator in October 2020 within the framework of the EU Twinning project, and its publication follows the Statistical Work Program 2022.
