The Azerbaijani state leasing company Agrolizing presented 551 tractors and 1,059 tractor trailers to local farmers for purchase under concessional terms under the 35 million manat allocated to the company from the 2010 state budget, the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
Given the importance of modern technological equipment in processing and storing agricultural products, Agrolizing purchased 27 sets of production equipment worth 30.44 million manat in 2010.
The company provided 113,000 tons of fertilizer to businesses and individuals on concessional terms through the compensation of 50-70 percent of the cost.
Harvesting was carried out on a territory of 205,000 hectares using harvesters provided by the company and work was carried out on 340,000 hectares using the tractors.
Agro-service branches equipped with modern technological equipment were commissioned in the regions of Zagatala, Agdash, Ismayilli, Shamkir and Khachmaz at the expense of the fund in 2010. The branches received 4.6 million manat from the state budget and 5 million manat from the Azerbaijani Presidential Reserve Fund.
Regional logistics markets for fertilizers with a capacity of 10,000-15,000 tons were commissioned in Barda, Jalilabad, Shamkir and Khachmaz to improve fertilizers.
Agrolizing was established in Oct. 2004 upon Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's order and is part of the Agriculture Ministry. The organization has a service center in the country's regions.
The company's activities aimed at improving the agricultural sector and support entrepreneurship in the country through the acquisition and lease of various agricultural equipments by local landowners.
The official exchange rate is 0.7933 manat to $1 on March 11.
