Deflation was observed in Azerbaijan in July. Compared with the previous month, consumer prices and tariffs for services decreased by 0.7 percent, the State Statistics Committee reported today.
In July, food prices fell by 1.7 percent, prices of industrial goods remained at the June level, while the rates and prices for paid services rendered to the population increased by 0.1 percent.
The State Statistics Committee mentiones lower prices for buckwheat, lamb, fresh fish, unpasteurised milk, sterilized milk, sunflower oil, bananas, apples, pears, peaches, melons, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, beets, onions, garlic, sugar and granulated sugar, sour cream, as well as higher prices for beef and chicken meat, meat products, pasteurized milk, eggs, butter, lemons, cherries, strawberries, chestnuts, carrots, greens.
In addition, paid services rendered to the population with rate increase in July included passenger traffic on international flights as well as passenger traffic by railway transport.
