China can lower rates of customs duties on Uzbek textile imports to China, Uzbek Uztekstilprom Association stated referring to the results of meeting between the leadership of the Uzbek textile association and the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jian Yan.
The Uzbek side noted that China invested over $200 million in the textile industry of Uzbekistan, and also provided information on successful projects with participation of Chinese companies such as Jinsheng group, Nanyang Mulanhua, Marjan Investment Group, etc.
The parties discussed cooperation between Uzbek and Chinese textile associations, major textile companies, expansion of investment activities of Chinese companies in Uzbekistan, and an increase in trade turnover between countries.
Particular attention was paid to development of the technical assistance program of the Government of China aimed at training and improving skills of young specialists for the textile, clothing and knitting industries. In January-June 2018, 15 specialists of the industry underwent training in different regions of China within the framework of this program.

Uztekstilprom invited Chinese companies to participate in the UzTextile Expo 2018 International Exhibition of Textile Industry and the Uzbekistan Textile Conference, which will be held on September 4-7 in Tashkent.
