Ukraine, Kiev, Dec. 18 / corr. Trend Z. Novosvitski / In January to November Ukraine reduced export of electricity by 15.4% to 7.263bn kwt per hour as compared to 2007, the Ukrainian Ministry of Fuel and Energy said on Dec. 17.
In particular, in January to November 2008, Ukrainian electrical energy exported to Hungary was reduced by 27.3% to 2.107bn kwt per hour, to Moldova was increased by 2.4% - to 2.728bn kwt per hour, to Slovakia was increased by 5.1 times to 1.580bn kwt per hour, to Romania was reduced by 83.5% to 69.3mln kwt per hour.
On Apr. 14, 2008 Ukraine restores export of electrical energy to Poland suspended on Oct. 1, 2007. Within Apr. 14 - Nov. 31, 778.5mln kwt per hour was exported to this country that is 21.4% more than in 2007.
In November export of electrical energy was increased by 10.8% to 648.4mln kwt/h compared with November 2007.
Cost of exported electrical energy within 11 months of 2008 was increased by 30.8% or by $107mln to $456.9mln.
Profit of Ukrinterenergo from export of electrical energy to countries of Eastern Europe ( Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and Romania) was increased by 55.5% to $343.4mln in January-November. Weighted average cost of electrical energy exported from energy island of Burshtin thermoelectric power station ( Hungary, Slovakia and Romania) was increased by 45% to $81.1mwt within this period.
In September to November electricity imported from Russia to Ukraine made up 937.8mln kwt/h, including 300.3mln kwt/h in November (delivery began from Sep. 15, 2008 and ceased on Dec. 1).
Ukraine exports electrical energy to Moldova, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The electricity export is carried out by Ukrinterenergo state enterprise of foreign economic activities which purchases it at wholesale market at tariff fixed by National Committee of Electrical Energy Regulation (NCER)
