Two new gas fields have been discovered in Iran - the Fruz Field on the Persian Gulf and the Tus Fridl in the Khorasan Razavi province, Iranian Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi was quoted as saying today by the Shana news agency.
The minister said Fruz was discovered 30 kilometers from Kish Island in Iran's territorial waters.
"The deposit's reserves amount to 700 billion cubic meters of gas and 288 million barrels of condensate. We have the ability to extract 70 million cubic meters of gas per day from the field," he said.
Tus' stocks are 62.5 billion cubic meters of gas. Iran will be able to extract 4 million cubic meters of gas from the field per day, Mirkazemi said.
