According to initial ecological studies conducted by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), the number of the company's vehicles that meet ecological standards in Azerbaijan increased by 888 units, or 10.5 percent, compared to last year, the SOCAR Ecology Department said.
"Positive results were achieved due to SOCAR's new transport fleet, as well as the timely elimination of problems in vehicles' engines. As a result of this work, it was possible to reduce the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere", the company said.
The company's report also says that repeated ecological studies have already begun in motor transportation.
At present, SOCAR has three research points located in Baku.
