Turkmenistan plans to conduct a feasibility study of new investment projects in the near future, the "Neutral Turkmenistan" newspaper writes.
One of such projects is the reconstruction of the Bagaji gas processing complex for production of liquefied gas in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan plans to create on its basis a gas chemical complex with a capacity of 80,000 tons of styrene-butadiene rubber and 45,000 tons of polystyrene per year.
The Bagaji gas processing complex was put into operation more than 10 years ago.
The newspaper also says the Naip gas processing complex started functioning in 1998 and gave impetus to the development of the gas processing industry of Turkmenistan, becoming an exporter of liquefied natural gas.
The complex is fed with the raw materials extracted from the oldest gas and condensate fields in the country, located in Zaunguz region - Naip and Kirpichli, as well as in North Bangui and other regions.
Construction of enterprises for deep processing of natural gas and production of gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel from natural gas is being carried out in Turkmenistan, with the participation of leading companies.
Putting those enterprises into operation will significantly increase the export position of Turkmenistan in the global energy market, the report says.
