Uzbekistan will commission 6 solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants by 2023, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.
By the beginning of 2023, two solar PV power plants with a total capacity of 300 MW will appear in Navoi region.
These include a 100 MW PV power plant in the Karmaninsky district, which was commissioned by Masdar (UAE) in August 2021, and a 200 MW PV power plant in the Nurata district, which will be commissioned by the Phanes Group (UAE) in July 2023.
In the Samarkand region, 2 PV power plants with a total capacity of 320 MW will be commissioned by 2023.
These include a 100 MW PV power plant in the Nurabad district, which will be commissioned in December 2021 by Total Eren (France) and a 220 MW PV power plant in the Kattakurgan district, which will be commissioned in May 2023 by Masdar (UAE).
Moreover, in the Gallaaral district of Jizzakh region, Masdar will launch a 220 MW PV power plant in May 2023.
In addition, a 457 MW pv power plant in the Sherabad district of the Surkhandarya region will be commissioned by Masdar in July 2023.
