BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Operating company JOCAP (Joint Operating Company of Absheron Petroleum B.V.) produced 130 million cubic meters of gas from the Caspian Absheron gas condensate field in January 2024, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.

Also, 50,000 tons of condensate were received from this field in January 2024.

Meanwhile, production in this field has been carried out since July 10, 2023.

Absheron field gives 4.3 million cubic meters of gas (goes to the Azerbaijani market) and 1,400 tons of condensate every day.

This year it may reach the peak production of the first phase of development - 1.5 bcm per year.

SOCAR (35 percent), TotalEnergies (35 percent), and ADNOC (30 percent) are involved in the Absheron project.

At the end of 2024, a decision may be made on the second phase of Absheron's development so that at its peak the field will eventually produce a total of 5.5-6.0 bcm of gas per year.

The field is located 100 km from Baku at a depth of about 500 meters. Reserves are estimated at 350 bcm of gas and 100 million tons of condensate.
