BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Condensate production at Azerbaijan’s Absheron field reached 0.52 million tons in the first 11 months of 2024, a significant increase from 0.24 million tons during the same period in 2023, Trend reports via Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy.
Overall oil and condensate production across the country totaled 26.5 million tons. Of this, 15.4 million tons were produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, and 3.8 million tons came from the Shah Deniz field. SOCAR, Azerbaijan's state oil company, produced 6.8 million tons of oil and condensate.
Azerbaijan exported approximately 22.2 million tons of oil and condensate from January to November 2024. Of this, 19.2 million tons were produced by consortiums, while SOCAR contributed 3 million tons.
Crude oil refining for the first 11 months of 2024 stood at 5.5 million tons.
In November 2024, the daily average oil production was 80,771 tons, with 65,885 tons (486,000 barrels) of crude oil and 14,886 tons of condensate.
The Absheron gas field, located offshore in the Caspian Sea, is situated 100 kilometers southeast of Baku and 25 kilometers northeast of the Shah Deniz field. Spanning around 270 square kilometers, the field’s reserves are estimated to be between 350 and 400 billion cubic meters of gas.
