BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 22. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline, a key route for Caspian crude exports, transported 224.14 million barrels of oil in 2024, Trend reports with reference to the data from Türkiye’s BOTAŞ Petroleum Pipeline Corporation.
The highest volume was recorded in July (20.533 million barrels), while the lowest volume occurred in August (16.849 million barrels), reflecting a 17.9% decline from July.
A significant drop was seen in February (-9.9%) after a strong January. The transportation rate stabilized between March and June, with minor variations.
A steady increase occurred from September to November, peaking in November before a slight dip in December.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly ACG crude oil and Shah Deniz condensate from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of Caspian regional crude oil and condensate (Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, other SOCAR volumes produced in Azerbaijan) continue to be transported via BTC.
BTC Co. shareholders are: bp (30.10%), SOCAR (32.97%), MOL (8.90%), TPAO (6.53%), Eni (5.00%), TotalEnergies (5.00%), ITOCHU (3.40%), ONGC Videsh (3.10%), ExxonMobil (2.50%) and INPEX (2.50%).
