BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28. Azerbaijan imported over 21.2 million cubic meters of natural gas from Russia from January through June 2025, spending $3.9 million on the purchases.
Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistics Committee indicates that this marks a notable development, as there were no recorded imports of Russian gas to Azerbaijan during the same period last year.
Overall, Azerbaijan imported 208.2 million cubic meters of natural gas from foreign countries in the first half of the year, valued at $32 million. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of imports decreased by 94.8 million cubic meters, while the total cost fell by $13.5 million, or 29.6 percent.
