Travel insurance can be said to be the most popular among voluntary types of insurance, Alakbar Guliyev, a specialist in the department of work with travel companies of Azerbaijan's Ateshgah insurance company, told Trend on Aug. 26.
This is due to the fact that the number of people traveling abroad has recently increased and the travel insurance is a prerequisite for obtaining a visa in almost all directions, Guliyev noted
"Compared to the same period last year, demand for this type of insurance increased by 20 percent," he said.
"Today, people themselves understand how important is an insurance policy that they can use during accidents while abroad," he added.
The sale of insurance policies is carried out through travel companies, as there are partnership agreements with these companies.
"Travel insurance policies are mostly issued for individuals. Cases when legal entities apply for insurance of their employees comprise about 30 percent of the entire market," Guliyev said.
The policy can be included in the tour package only at the request of the client.
