Communications and Information Technologies Ministry of Azerbaijan will attend a joint meeting of the board Operations Committee of International Organization of Space Communications (IOSC) Intersputnik, the ministry reported.

The meeting will be held in Hanoi (Vietnam) in spring 2010.

The meeting is expected to focus on and make decisions on a wide range of activities. A report regarding Intersputnik's activities in 2009 will be presented to delegates.

The decision to hold the next meeting of the committee in Vietnam was made during 37th joint session of the BOC Intersputnik, held in April 2009 in Baku.

IOSC Intersputnik, as one of the world's first satellite operator, unites 25 countries. The main activities of the organization are leasing operators, broadcasters and corporate clients of satellite capacity, as well as providing complex services for the establishment and operation of satellite networks through a subsidiary Intersputnik Holding.

Azerbaijan officially joined the system Intersputnik in late 2004. Azerbaijan's membership to IOSC allows to use space on favorable terms to release and broadcast television and radio programs in different regions of the world.
