The third wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) may lead to triple increase of the number of confidential data losses, according to the research by the DeviceLock DLP (data loss prevention) cybersecurity organization, Trend reports.
According to the organization, during the transition of enterprises to remote work and the creation of a new IT infrastructure to maintain online interaction in the first half of 2020, the business made many mistakes, which later had to be corrected.
As reported, the number of data losses of companies in the CIS last year increased by more than 30 percent compared to 2019, the company said.
Over 60 percent of surveyed experts reported that DLP systems (Data Loss Prevention) of their companies last year only recorded data losses, but could not prevent them due to inability of most of the available solutions to automatically block the ‘loss’ of information.
Moreover, many security services chose not to prevent damage, but only to collect data for future strengthening of protection, the organization stated.
