BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Stable delivery terms have been achieved on the main sections of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor), increasing its attractiveness for China and the EU, Trend reports via the TITR Association.

“Thus, according to the schedule, which demonstrates stability, the delivery time for goods from Kazakhstan's Altynkol junction railway station (border with China) and to the Baku port of Alat on the Caspian Sea (a key link in transshipment) is nine days,” the association said.

The Altynkol-Poti/Batumi route takes 12 days.

“If we take the entire route Altynkol-Poti/Batumi-Port of Constanta, then it takes 20–22 days, depending on the situation on the Black Sea,” the association pointed out.

Currently, the issue of speedy digitalization of TITR is being resolved, which will allow tracking the location of cargo.

To note, the TITR project has been operational for 10 years, and the TITR Association has been active since 2016.

Due to new geopolitical realities, the TITR has been in demand by shippers and consignees for the past two-three years.

In 2023, about 2.7 million tons of cargo passed through the Middle Corridor (an 86 percent increase compared to 2022). An anticipated 4.2 million tons will be produced in 2024. The TITR is expected to carry roughly 10 million tons of freight per year by 2027.
