ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 7. Guvlyduz enterprise, part of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern, has started supplying granulated salt to private companies in Afghanistan, Trend reports.
This type of salt is widely used in the petrochemical, food, textile, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in heating systems. The production capacity of Guvlyduz allows the company to increase its overall output of high-quality food salt to 40,000 tons per year, with an annual production of 2,500 tons of granulated technical salt.
By the end of 2024, the total amount of salt produced reached 8,910 tons, surpassing the production plan by 101.5 percent. The enterprise also demonstrated strong results in the production of granulated salt, producing 7,920 tons. The volume of packaged food salt reached 2,357 tons, with a growth rate of 117.5 percent.
Food salt is actively used by enterprises engaged in the processing of vegetables, fruits, meat, and fish. Private entrepreneurs have also shown interest in salt intended for industrial processing. A significant achievement was the enrichment of salt with potassium iodide, which has received high praise from UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and the International Council for the Control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders.
