Non-oil imports to Iran's North Khorasan Province decline

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Imports of non-oil products to North Khorasan Province, located in northeastern Iran, decreased by 22 percent in value and 90 percent in weight during 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through May 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through May 21, 2023), Head of Iran's Customs Administration in North Khorasan Hojjat Imani said, Trend reports.

According to him, during 2 months, a total of 4,000 tons of products worth $2 million were imported to North Khorasan province.

Imani noted that the main imported products are glass, chicken, nickel, rice, and so on.

The official stated that the northern province of Khorasan mainly imported products from China, Türkiye, the Netherlands, and the UAE.

To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, 5.84 million tons of products worth about $9.08 billion were imported to Iran during the first 2 months of the current Iranian year. The import of non-oil products to Iran increased by 9.19 percent in value terms and 13.3 percent in weight terms compared to the same period last year.
