BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. The volume of goods transported by trucks from Mazandaran Province, located in northern Iran, increased by 4 percent during the six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2024) compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through September 22, 2023), the official of Mazandaran Province Roads and Transportation Department of Iran Jalal Kazemi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, over the course of six months, trucks moved 10.1 million tons of products from Mazandaran Province to other regions around the nation.
Kazemi added that mainly corn fodder, sand, barley, citrus fruits, gasoline, dairy products, cement, and so on were transported from Mazandaran province to other provinces.
The official noted that 142 transportation and trucking companies are operating in Mazandaran Province.
To note, a total of 283 million tons of cargo were transported by truck between Iranian provinces during the six months. The volume of freight transportation by trucks between Iranian provinces increased by three percent during the six months of the current Iranian year compared to the same period of last year.
