BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. The export of non-oil products through the customs of Mazandaran Province, located in the north of Iran, increased by 25 percent in value and 20 percent in weight terms during eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through November 21, 2023), controller of customs in Iran's Mazandaran Province Amir Jamshidi told reporters, Trend reports.
He claims that over the course of the eight months, Mazandaran Province Customs exported 1.3 million tons of non-oil products worth $260 million.
Jamshidi added that for seven months, the customs of Noshehr, Amirabad, Sari, Feredoon Kenar, and Amol Provinces exported 125 types of products. Thus, the main exports were dairy products worth $86 million, cement worth $31 million, rubber products worth $29 million, metals worth $21 million, and various equipment and spare parts worth $12 million. The export of mentioned five non-oil products amounted to 68 percent of the product exports via the customs of Mazandaran Province.
The official reported that the customs of Mazandaran Province exported non-oil products to 44 countries. Thus, the official exported mainly non-oil products worth $96.4 million to Iraq, $84.6 million to Russia, $17.5 million to Turkmenistan, $11.6 million to Kazakhstan, and $7.36 million to Pakistan. The export of non-oil products to the mentioned countries amounted to 84 percent of the product exports via the customs of Mazandaran Province.
To note, Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 104 million tons worth $38.2 billion during the eight months of the current Iranian year. Compared to the same period last year, exports of non-oil products increased by 18 percent in value and 14.6 percent in weight terms.
