The Iranian presidential administration has allocated 20 billion rials (about $476,000) for the construction of the Darmian Barberry Processing Plant in the Noqab village of the Darmian county of Iran’s South Khorasan province, governor of Darmian county Mohammad Bashirizadeh said.
By producing more than 3,000 tons of barberry per year, Darmian county is one of the main counties of South Khorasan province in the barberry production, Bashirizadeh added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
There were two packaging and processing workshops in Kohistan and Asadiya towns. Unfortunately, due to some problems, they do not operate. The work is underway to resume their activity.
The lack of jobs is one of the problems of people living in the border villages. It is possible to prevent villagers from moving to big cities by creating permanent jobs in Darmian county.
Taking into account the drought in the county, the processing of agricultural products and medicinal plants, the handicraft industry are one of the most important sectors for the creation of jobs.
